- When will be the SRM Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMEEE) for next year admissions be held?SRMEEE 2010 will be held on 02.05.2010, Sunday, between 10.00AM and 12.30PM for admission to UG and PG Programs in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
- When will the application forms be issued? Where can it be purchased?We are planning to release the first advertisement in the last week of December 2009/ first week of January 2010. Application form will be issued from that date upto the first week of April 2010. Arrangements are being made to sell application forms through designated branches of various banks and post offices numbering over 5000. The details of sale outlets will be available on our website.
- We are interested in B.Arch admission. Should my ward attend any coaching classes?It is for you to decide. You can refer our website for the syllabus and model question paper for the APTITUDE TEST in ARCHITECTURE to be conducted by us on 02.05.2010 (as part of SRMEEE 2010).
- Is there an Entrance examination for B.Design? No. Admission to this program will be based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination, subject to satisfying our eligibility conditions.
- How much marks should a candidate score in higher secondary examination to get admission in B.Arch/ B.Des ?Higher the marks, better are the chances. Refer the website for admission procedure.
- What about the fee structure for various programs?The fee structure as existing now (academic year 2009-2010) is available n our website. It may be amended for the next year (academic year 2010-2011).
- When will you conduct Entrance Examinations for PG programs in Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences?Normally we issue notification in the first / second week of December, and issue application forms up to second week of January. The entrance examination will be conducted on the last Sunday in January.
Target Programs: MDS, MPT, MOT, M.Pharm, M.Sc Nursing and M.Sc in Allied Medical Sciences. - Is there any facility for us to stay in the campus when we come for counseling?No, we don't have any facility. You have to make your own arrangement. However, you can stay at the SRM Hotel (Star Category) near the campus. The contact details are: Ph: 044-27454249, 2745315,

- How can I reach the SRM University campus?Click on Visiting SRM, you can find the information at "How to reach SRM University"
- We are asked to submit DD for Rs. 25,000/-. If we don't accept the admission, will you refund the amount? This question does not arise. You have to submit the DD only after you accept the campus offered, the branch offered (for B.Tech) or the specialization offered (for M.Tech)
- Should we deposit the original certificates on the day of counseling?No, but you have to produce them during counseling for verification
- What are the documents to be produced at the time of admission?Please see our counseling call letter
- When is the last date to pay the tuition fees and get admitted?For B.Tech, B.Arch: 30.06.2010 (already given in the prospectus - Guide to entrance 2010), For M.Tech, MBA, MCA: 15.07.2010
- Is SRM arranging for Educational loan through banks?SRM University plays the role of a facilitator in this aspect. 11 banks will be available in the counseling venue to process loan application and issue on the spot in principle sanctioning letter
- Should the parents come along with the candidate?It is not compulsory
- Can parents attend the counseling instead of the candidate?
- For B.Tech programme, it is mandatory that the candidate attends the counseling. However, if the candidate is unable to attend due to some genuine reason, we can permit parents to represent the candidate. In such a case, the candidate should give an authorization letter in favour of his/her parents. The decision taken by the parents is final and binding. No change of campus or branch will be permitted afterwards
- For M.Tech, MBA, MCA programmes: Candidates must attend the counseling. Representatives will not be permitted to attend on behalf of the candidate
- Will there be a second counseling for candidates with rank beyond 10000?No
- Can we pay the counseling fee by cash?No. All the fees to be paid to the university is by way of DD / Banker's cheque in favour of "SRMIST" payable at Chennai
- Is the counseling fee / tuition fee paid refundable in case we withdraw later?In the normal course, any fees paid is non refundable
- What about Hostel accommodation?Hostel accommodation is Available. Hostel officials will be available in the counseling venue. You can contact them for all details
- My son has secured 66% overall in +2 examination but 59.5% in PCM. Is he eligible for admission?No, he should satisfy the eligibility criterion of minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM/PCB
- I have secured an eligible rank in the M.Tech entrance examination. My aggregate percentage is 59.5% in B.Tech / qualifying examination. Can I attend counseling?No. For admission to M.Tech, MBA and MCA, the eligibility is "minimum aggregate of 60% in the qualifying examination"
- What are the courses for which a student with PCB is eligible?Candidates with Maths , Physics and Chemistry are eligible for admission to all the branches of the B.Tech programme. Candidates with Biology, Physics, Chemistry are eligible for admission to Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Bioprocess engg, Biomedical engg, Genetic engg., and Food Process engg
